Psalm 27

1. A gang coming against one of us is very bad news, more so when they had intended to come to injure us. Why does v4 say we should be confident? For what reason(s) that we should not be afraid?
2. What might be the best thing we should aim for in our lives in God?
3. Obedience to God is our response to God loving us. In what ways has God helped us?
4. When people alienate us, this could be their dislike of how we are., or what we have done that annoyed them greatly. What does v10 say about assurance of God?
5. The psalmist is also asking for God’s prompting to him to live in a better way, and follow the right path. How does v11 follow v10, or are they unrelated?
6. Are we confident to see God’s goodness in our land?
7. V14 says to wait patiently, but also be brave and courageous. Are these incompatible things? How might I do so? For example, the author of this question (David) waited patiently to break a piece of important news to somebody and he did so bravely and courageously, setting out the issues and details. Although the matter is not “good news”, it was very well received. Think of something to do this in the coming week.
